Dylan Emery came from 3-1 down to beat Tom Ford 4-3 and qualify for the final stages of the BetVictor Scottish Open.
Welshman Emery has shown plenty of promise in his debut season and has now won four out of four qualifying matches for ranking events. World number 32 Ford built a 3-1 lead with top breaks of 77 and 73 but Emery hit back to take the last three frames with a top run of 113 to book his place in the final stages in Edinburgh next month.
India’s Himanshu Jain, another tour rookie, also scored a 4-3 victory, seeing off veteran Jimmy White. Jain trailed 3-2 but won the last two frames to win a knockout match for the first time as a pro.
Ricky Walden scored a 4-2 win over Peng Yisong while Graeme Dott secured a spot in his home event as he eased to a 4-0 success against Muhammad Asif.
