Thailand’s Nattanapong Chaikul fired in three centuries on his way to a 4-1 win over compatriot Taweesap Kongkitcherdchoon in round one of Asia-Oceania Q School in Bangkok.
Chaikul is just 19 years old and showcased his talent with breaks of 122, 102 and 101 during the victory. He will now meet Narongdat Takantong in the last 64.
Nawan Pooltong continued a strong day for Thailand, putting on a fine performance to see off Singapore’s Kingsley Tian Yi Ang 4-1. Pooltong crafted breaks of 104 and 101 on his way to the win and now faces Naeem Gull Shair of Pakistan.
China’s Guoqiang He scored a 4-0 whitewash win against Iranian Hamed Zaredoost, making contributions of 102, 69 and 63. Guoqiang bowed out of event one in the penultimate round, he will be hoping to go two steps further this time. Next up is a second round meeting with Ka Lam Lau.
