Allen has won three titles already this season and is looking to earn more silverware in the Players Series having landed the Johnstone's Paint Players Championship in February. But he fell 4-1 behind today as Higgins knocked in breaks of 85, 75, 55 and 66. A run of 123 launched Allen's comeback and he took a 56-minute seventh frame on the colours. He added the last of the session to square the tie.
Meanwhile, Gary Wilson established a 5-3 advantage over Mark Selby ahead of Tuesday's conclusion. Breaks of 95, 98, 78 and 101 helped Wilson come from 1-0 down to lead 5-2, before Selby took the last of the session with a 71.
