The match schedule for the top 16 seeds at the Crucible will be announced soon.
The draw for the last 32 will be broadcast on BBC Radio Five Live and streamed on the BBC Sport website on the morning of Thursday April 18th, around 8.45am, with the 16 seeds drawn at random against the 16 players who come through the qualifying rounds.
Mark Williams won the Johnstone's Paint Tour Championship, his second ranking title of the season, and the £150,000 prize boosted him from eighth to sixth on the two year list. Ronnie O'Sullivan was runner-up and stretched his lead over Trump at the top of the official rankings to £48,000. However, as O'Sullivan will lose £500,000 from his tally at the end of the Cazoo World Championship (having won that event in 2022) he is actually fifth on the provisional end of season list.
Allen tops that list so he is in pole position to become world number one for the first time in his career, though seven other players could go past him at the Crucible: Trump, Brecel, Selby, O'Sullivan, Murphy, Ding and Williams.
