The prize fund for next season’s Masters, snooker’s biggest invitation event and part of the Triple Crown, will jump to over £1 million with the top prize climbing to £350,000.

The total prize fund this season was £725,000 so it will increase by £290,000 to reach £1,015,000. The winner’s cheque will leap from £250,000 to £350,000 while the runner-up prize is up from £100,000 to £140,000.

The Masters is one of the sport’s most historic and prestigious events, first staged in 1975. It is held at the spectacular Alexandra Palace in London, where the arena is renowned for its atmosphere when packed with over 2,000 fans.

The 2025 Masters will run from January 12-19. Only the world’s top 16 players will qualify for the event. Ronnie O'Sullivan won the title this year, beating Ali Carter in the final.

WST Chairman Steve Dawson said: “We are delighted to make this significant prize money increase and it gives even more incentive for the players to earn a place in the top 16 and qualify for this wonderful event.

“We have made prize money increases in many events across the tour, including the Home Nations and German Masters which have all jumped to £500,000. Our overall prize money for the tour continues to grow and we have exciting developments still to come.”
