China's Lei Peifan holds the advantage in the BetVictor Scottish Open final, leading fellow 21-year-old compatriot Wu Yize 5-3 after the first session in Edinburgh.
The winner this evening will secure a momentous maiden ranking event win, the Stephen Hendry Trophy and a top prize of £100,000.
World number 84 Lei is appearing in his first ranking event final, having previously never been beyond the last 16. Wu has long been recognised as one of the sport's most talented prospects and was runner-up to Neil Robertson at this season's BetVictor English Open.
It was Lei who surged to a surprise 4-0 lead this afternoon, despite having come through an epic semi-final with Mark Allen 6-5 yesterday evening with the clock well past midnight.
However, Wu rallied after the mid-session and took three of the last four to remain in touch at 5-3.
The first to nine frames will be crowned champion, with the final session beginning at 7pm.
