German number one Lukas Kleckers scored a stunning 5-2 defeat of world number 17 Jack Lisowski to earn his place in the final stages of the World Open.

It's the first time Kleckers has ever defeated Lisowski, who won their previous two meetings. The German came within one match of qualifying for the UK Championship back in November, but today's victory is undoubtedly his best result of the campaign so far.

Breaks of 133, 61 and 57 saw Kleckers earn victory this afternoon. Now he turns his attention to a blockbuster clash with Judd Trump at his home event, the BetVictor German Masters, next week at the iconic Tempodrom in Berlin.

India's Ishpreet Singh Chadha earned a second victory of the season over 2015 World Champion Stuart Bingham, progressing by a 5-3 scoreline. From 3-3, Singh Chadha claimed the next two frames to get himself over the line.

John Higgins secured his progression with a 5-1 defeat of fellow Scot Ross Muir. The four-time World Champion crafted runs of 52 and 79 during the win.

World number three Mark Allen came through with a 5-1 win over Estonia's Andres Petrov. The Northern Irishman top scored with a break of exactly 100.

China's Long Zehuang came through a 5-4 victor against Thailand's Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, while Ashley Hugill won 5-1 against Anthony McGill.
