Judd Trump is just two frames away from ending Ronnie O'Sullivan's eight year undefeated streak at the Shanghai Masters, after blitzing to an 8-1 lead in their semi-final encounter. 

The Ace in the Pack is hunting his first ever Shanghai Masters title, whilst O'Sullivan's hopes of a fifth successive title are left hanging by a thread. They faced each other in the 2017 final, where a 10-3 win for O'Sullivan marked the beginning of four title wins in a row. His current match win streak in the event stands at 21. 

Trump put on a dominant performance this afternoon, conjuring breaks breaks of 51, 106, 128, 127, 82, 71 and 91 to take eight of the nine frames played. 

They return at 7:30pm local time to play the best of 19 frame encounter to a conclusion. The winner will progress to tomorrow's final, where they will meet Shaun Murphy for a top prize of £210,000.
