Mark Allen is the new official world number one, with the two-year rankings updated following the Cazoo World Championship.
Allen tops the list for the first time in his career, becoming the 12th player in snooker history to hold the world number one position, after Ray Reardon, Cliff Thorburn, Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry, John Higgins, Mark Williams, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Neil Robertson, Mark Selby, Judd Trump and Ding Junhui. O’Sullivan had been on top for over two years from April 2022, but now drops down to fifth.
Having conquered the Crucible for the first time, Kyren Wilson earns £500,000 and leaps from 12th to third, behind Allen and Judd Trump. It’s a career-high ranking for the Kettering cueman.
Runner-up Jak Jones receives £200,000, by far his biggest pay day, and he flies up from 44th to 14th, earning a place among the elite top 16 for the first time. Stuart Bingham reached the semi-finals and he's up from 29th to 25th, while David Gilbert also made the last four and he jumps from 31st to 22nd.
Trump finishes the 2023/24 season top of the one-year list with £791,000 earned from ranking events alone, followed by Wilson with £582,500. Wilson also earns a spot in the Champion of Champions.
