WST is delighted to announce the introduction of a brand-new Arabic language Instagram page.

Snooker is rapidly expanding in the Middle East from both a grassroots and professional standpoint. The Ronnie O’Sullivan Snooker Academy was opened last month in Riyadh, with two prestigious World Snooker Tour events taking place in the city this season.

Judd Trump won a classic final at the inaugural Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters in September, with one of the great deciding frame clearances to beat Mark Williams 10-9. December will see Ronnie O’Sullivan attempt to defend his title at the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship.

With more professional snooker in the Middle East expected to be announced in due course you can find all the latest news on events in the area, as well as the tour as a whole, using the handle @worldsnookertour_ar on Instagram. The existing English speaking account handle is @worldsnookertour.

WST’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Tom Rowell said: “As a result of the globalisation of snooker, we are constantly trying to offer content which caters for different regions around the world. Making the sport fans love as accessible as possible is crucial to continuing our growth.

“The Middle East is a market for snooker which has grown rapidly over recent times, with the addition of huge events in Saudi Arabia and more to come across the region. We hope that fans will enjoy and engage with the content provided on this new page, as they continue to fall in love with snooker. These are exciting times for WST in the Middle East and for our fans in North Africa and we can’t wait to see the sport develop further in these areas over the coming years."
