Last week’s Victorian Plumbing UK Championship qualifying rounds achieved nearly three million views on WST’s Facebook and YouTube channels – almost double last year’s total.
Fans across the globe enjoyed live and free coverage of the action as top stars including Neil Robertson and Jack Lisowski battled for places in the final stages in York.
There were two days of live streaming on Facebook and YouTube with commentary on one table, and then two days of WST’s renowned Judgement Day production, with roving coverage of all four tables plus interviews and studio analysis.
Across the four days on Facebook, there were 1,959,000 views, a huge increase on 2023’s figure of 912,000. And YouTube had a similar leap, with 852,000 views compared to last year’s 580,000.
Tom Rowell, WST’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, said: “We are delighted to see these figures with such a significant jump compared to last year. Fans have become accustomed to watching our free and live coverage of the qualifying rounds for both the World and UK Championship, and for many for them Judgement Day is a highlight of the season.
"The quality of our production has grown over the years and this is bringing more fans across the globe to our channels. This time we saw some fantastic storylines, notably the historic performances of Bai Yulu, achieving the longest run ever by a woman in a Triple Crown event. It’s rewarding for us to bring these moments to our growing audience on digital platforms.”
