Thailand's Thepchaiya Un-Nooh missed the final black when he was on course for a 147 maximum for the third time in his career at International Championship qualifying in Sheffield.
The 39-year-old famously missed the last ball on 140 at the 2015 UK Championship, costing him a potential £44,000 payout. Sportingly, he subsequently appeared on TFI Friday to recreate the shot, this time potting the black before being handed a pint of lager by Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe.
Just months later, Un-Nooh then missed the last ball for a 147 again during a 2016 World Championship qualifying clash with Anthony McGill.
Today's miss came in the second frame of his 6-4 win over Lei Peifan. It does still mean he has the highest break of the tournament so far, putting him in line for a potential £5,000, but once again Un-Nooh has narrowly missed out on snooker perfection. After over-running his attempted position from pink to black, the cue ball was close to the top cushion. He tried a thin cut to a top corner, but the black wobbled in the jaws and stayed out.
Renowned as one of snooker's most exciting and fastest players, Un Nooh has four maximum breaks to his name. They came at the 2016 Paul Hunter Classic, 2018 English Open, 2022 German Masters qualifying and the 2023 WST Classic.
No other player has missed the final black for an official 147 more than once.
