Maximum man Jackson Page is 5-4 down to Joe O'Connor after the first session of their Halo World Championship final qualifying round clash.
Judgement Day resumes at 5pm with first to ten frames to go through to the Crucible, with the draw for the televised stages to take place on Thursday morning.
Page made history this week as the first player ever to make two 147s in the same match, during his 10-2 defeat of Allan Taylor, an achievement which scooped him a £147,000 bonus. But the Welshman will need to win six of the last ten frames against O'Connor to make it to the last 32. Page took an early 2-0 lead, making a break of 131, but O'Connor hit back to take five of the next seven frames with a top run of 94.
Two-time Crucible finalist Ali Carter leads He Guoqiang 6-3 with a top break of 72. Another two-time finalist, Matthew Stevens, took an early 4-0 lead over Wu Yize, but now leads just 5-4 as Wu fought back with top breaks of 127 and 139.
Fan Zhengyi forged a 7-2 lead over Michael Holt with a top break of 135 while Iran's Hossein Vafaei went 6-3 up on Wang Yuchen with top runs of 113 and 123. Pang Junxu pulled away from 3-3 to lead Jamie Jones 6-3. Amateur Gao Yang leads Lei Peifan 5-4 in a Chinese derby, while Jimmy Robertson is 6-3 ahead of Matthew Selt.
