Chris Wakelin and Si Jiahui, both sharpening up for debut appearances in next week's Johnstone's Paint Masters, made strong starts to Group Two of the 2025 BetVictor Championship League Snooker Invitational on Monday.
Wakelin earned 3-0 wins over Ryan Day and Robert Milkins, before a narrow 3-2 defeat in his last match against Si. China's Si also beat Milkins 3-1 but lost 3-1 to Ali Carter. Wakelin and Si top the Group Two table with two wins out of three. The eventual group winner on Tuesday night will go through to the Winners' Group in February. Day and Milkins both scored two wins out of four.
