This week's Machineseeker German Masters in Berlin is the penultimate leg in the race to qualify for the World Grand Prix, with crucial points up for grabs on the Johnstone's Paint One-Year Rankings.
Once the action at the Tempodrom has concluded, all eyes will turn to Llandudno for the last counting event, the BetVictor Welsh Open (February 10-16). At the end of that event, the top 32 on the one-year list will qualify for the lucrative World Grand Prix in Hong Kong (March 4-9), the first event in the 2025 Players Series.
So players around the cut-off line have only two more chances to improve their position.
Hossein Vafaei is currently in 33rd place with £64,400, and he faces a vital match on Tuesday morning against Yuan Sijun, who is 32nd with £65,200. Just above them in 31st is Long Zehuang with £65,500, but he has not qualified for Berlin so could drop out of the top 32 this week.
Crucible finalist Jak Jones is 29th with £66,300 then it's Ben Woollaston in 30th with £66,100, so both need wins this week to protect their position. Just below the cut-off line, the likes of Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, Ryan Day and Noppon Saengkham, in 35th, 36th and 37th, will hope for a run at the Tempodrom to make up ground.

The week before the World Grand Prix, it's the World Open in Yushan, which does not count towards the race to Hong Kong, but does count towards qualification for the Sportsbet.io Players Championship in Telford (March 17-23). Only the top 16 on the one-year list will earn a place in Telford, and then only the top 12 graduate to the third and last event in the series, the Sportsbet.io Tour Championship in Manchester (March 31 to April 6).
