By making 16 centuries within the space of four days at the BetVictor Championship League last week, Judd Trump has revived his hopes of making 100 tons this season and potentially winning a £100,000 bonus.

A new initiative this season offers that bonus as a reward to the first player who can get their century tally into three figures. This has only ever been achieved twice before, in 2013/14 when Neil Robertson made 103 tons over the campaign, and 2019/20 when Trump himself compiled 102.

The world number one's barrage of scoring last week in Leicester brought his total for 2024/25 from 49 to 65. He has decided not to enter next month's BetVictor Welsh Open, but still has the following events to play in over the coming months. In brackets are the number of centuries he made in the same events last season.

Machineseeker German Masters (9)
BetVictor Championship League Winners' Group (0, did not enter)
Weide Cup World Open (8)
World Grand Prix (2)
Sportsbet.io Players Championship (2)
Sportsbet.io Tour Championship (0)
World Championship (3)

So in the same events last season Trump made 24 centuries, which this time would bring him to 89. However if he enjoys deeper runs in certain events, particularly in Sheffield, then he could reach the 100 ton target. The record for centuries during the World Championship is 16, set by Stephen Hendry when he was runner-up in 2002, and matched by Mark Williams when he was a semi-finalist in 2022.

Jak Jones is in second place on this season's centuries list with 51. He made an incredible 32 tons during the BetVictor Championship League, smashing the record for the most in a single tournament, previously set by Matthew Selt with 23 in the same event in 2023.

If two (or more players) reach the 100 milestone having played the same number of frames in the same round of the same tournament, then the bonus will be shared.
