The Welsh Open has been ever present on the global calendar every year since 1992, making it one of snooker's most historic tournaments. Since 2023 it has been staged in Llandudno, a fabulous location popular for fans and players. And it will return once again next year with an array of green baize giants battling for the Ray Reardon Trophy.
Mark Selby won the title this season, beating Stephen Maguire in the final after coming through a field which included the likes of Kyren Wilson, John Higgins, Shaun Murphy, Neil Robertson, Mark Allen, Luca Brecel and home favourite Mark Williams.
Tom Rowell, WST’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, said: "Having staged the Welsh Open in Llandudno for the past three seasons, the feedback from fans and players is always excellent, and this year the arena was packed for most sessions. So we're delighted to be heading back to Venue Cymru next year for a tournament which generates huge interest worldwide, indicated by the significant jump in viewing figures this year.
"We have set new ticket records on several tournaments this season and we expect that trend to continue in 2025/26, as the standard of play keeps improving and the players keep delivering an incredible level of drama."
