Germany's Maike first watched snooker in 2005 and within two years she took her refereeing exams, then gained experience at amateur events before working on the World Snooker Tour for the first time at the 2010 Paul Hunter Classic. She has since become one of the best known officials from the continent.
In 2016 she took charge of a ranking event final for the first, in her home country at the German Masters in Berlin. She received a fantastic reception at the Tempodrom ahead of the final where Martin Gould beat Luca Brecel.
Maike has gone on to referee several other finals, including the 2017 World Cup in China, the 2018 Northern Ireland Open clash between Judd Trump and Ronnie O’Sullivan, the 2020 European Masters in Austria when Neil Robertson beat Zhou Yuelong 9-0, the 2022 British Open and the 2023 European Masters.
In 2017 she made her Crucible debut, taking charge of the first round match between Shaun Murphy and Yan Bingtao.
Away from snooker, Maike works in a bank in her home town of Mammendorf and enjoys travelling.
